God, is this market incredible or what?
The following is for those of you who are starting out now, and think you have too little money to invest and that it is too late.
I was looking at the numbers in my little IRA that I had to "freeze" back in '92 when I started my 401.
I had a total of $4628.69 in it.
I put it in the Q IPO, sold that in '94 for a double
(I bought 205 shares, which would have been worth $326K today if I had left it there)
Bought and sold Mobiltel comm and Ultatech stepper quickly.
(Great tips from the "full service broker" I still had then.)
put that into MSFT, sold that in '98 for a "quad",
put that in Cisco for a seven months, sold that for 22% more,
put that back into MSFT, and sold that for a 25% bump, to buy Q back in May of 99.
I sold 70K of the Q to buy a house for my son last August, and I still have 104K in that account.
That means that I made 169K on a 4.6K investment in 6 1/2 years.
So don't think that starting small means you can't make it!
And for those of you who say,
"look how much more you would have had it you had left it in Q!"
All I can say is,
"Hey, I can guess pretty well, but I am not that well!"
