Tim,

Many thanks for this interesting story. The competition seems harder than I thought. Friends of me who were in the holidays in the USA told again and again of the bad coffee which one gets there. When I was during my holidays in California some time ago, I discovered Starbucks. I was astonished, that Americans had learned to estimate the european style of coffee. The numbers of visitors at Starbucks indicated that this business had to flourish, and I saw much room for competitors. Back in Europe I got to know about JAVC here in the SI. The shares were cheap but JAVC wrote losses. The loss per share however became smaller in every quarter. The expansion strategy of JAVC seemed adequate and I saw profits soon. With a good management climbing prices for coffee shouldn't be such a problem. Therefore I expect for the quarter, which ends March, still a small profit or at least a smaller loss than in the last quarter. I have also bought my shares at a price of 5/8.
