Jeff,

I think your theory of being stabbed from the back seat of a car is a good one, but only if the reports of an argument being heard by area residents is incorrect. Otherwise, I think Suzanne and the attacker must have stepped outside of the car. Suzanne could not have been overly afraid because she did not run. She must have decided to turn and walk away from the man she was arguing with and was surprised by a blow to the head. She was able to scream but the blows continued in rapid succession, silencing her.
