Great reports from SSB.

A poster from the NTAP board posted this excellent bit of research he got directly from the GEA:

Message 12218631

It was in response to my question about the alleged 10 gig GE project being run by Canarie. I asked for any examples of 10 gig prototypes and the response here is very interesting and it makes perfect sense. If there is one protocol running the entire network it will not be GE. Here you can see that their high speed strategy is mapping it onto a long distance protocol. The phone companies are not going to change their long haul systems to install GE or for that matter FC repeaters along the way. The question I have is the success of FC or GE over WDM. Either of those techniques is successful, I think you can still make a strong argument for both protocols being sent over the long haul.
