Updated 3:46 PM ET December 6, 1999 STERLING, Va., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Data-Disk Technology, Inc. announces the introduction of its new product: the DATADISK as a competing product to Sony's Memory Stick product. The storage capacity of Data-Disk's new DATADISK product follows exactly the storage capacities of Sony's Memory Stick offering 4, 8, 16 and 32 megabytes of storage. Utilizing the same fundamental Flash memory component, both Data-Disk's DATADISK product and Sony's Memory Stick serve the digital camera and MP3 player markets. Data-Disk's product is indestructible, while looking very similar in shape to the Memory Stick, this revolutionary new product offers the capability to serve industrial market applications. Data-Disk's new product is built with an open architecture, interoperable with all Windows operating systems, as well as Apple and Unix. Data-Disk offers a PC Card Adapter to permit its customers to insert into PCMCIA slots available in most computer platforms for easy access. PCMCIA ports can be added to computer platforms to permit access if your computer platform does not come with a PCMCIA slot.
Additionally, Data-Disk is interested in offering its technology to digital camera and MP3 product manufacturers who are seeking an alternative to Sony's proprietary Memory Stick product.
