The order in which the slashing of the throat and the stab wounds in the back were probably in that order. If the assailant restrained the victim from behind and quickly slashed the throat, there would likely be no opportunity for the victim to scream for help. The Nicole Brown murder would be such a case, at least from my hazy recollection of the news.
