Big? I just went throught the same ordeal. Here's the skinny.

AB Watley:

is a full service broker and uses Real tick III and is simple to use because you can click on any MM in L2 and it loads your order. You then have a choice how to route that order. Commissions begin at 23.95 per ticket and decrease according to # of tickets to 16.95 for top volume customers. They have tons of servers in various locations and are rarely down. When they are down, you can place orders through a broker.

Cybertrader/Cyber X:

is not a full service broker. There software is completely different. They have many unique features, such as a Hammer window, 3d graphics window-for setting your own parameters, stock that hit your parameters show up as large or small spheres depending on how close they meet your request. Top ten NYSE/NASDAQ decliners/gainers real time continuous quotes, streaming dynamic trades on the NYSE/NASDAQ window, and a window that shows streaming 52 wk high/lows of a stock, differentiated by color.

You cannot at this time click on the MM in L2 with them.
They both use smart keys.

I use Cyber X for now, which is a scale down version to learn how to use the ECN's. Commissions are only 14.95 as well. I feel Cybertrader will benefit me more in the future by the various windows you can add to your system. Although, I still feel AB Watley is easier for newbies who never have traded through or to ECN's before. However, I cannot justify $50 a roundtrip in the learning stage. I fully expect to use Cybertrader next month. Cybercorp wants you to have at least 1 month experience using ECN's.

BTW-I had feed problems with them yesterday afternoon around 3:30pm, and discovered I could only close out positions. They wouldn't allow me to open any. I missed a few that I wanted to take home.
