Please to you, too, Zoltan. :-) Bruce Bartlett is hardly an impartial reviewer. I smell too much politics here, not enough scholarship. As a scholar, I find damning Stinnett's claim that he could not get into archives that any other scholar with half a brain could get into. The other two guys seemed to know more about the technical questions that his case hinges on. They did not strike me as being "apologists" for anything but the facts. You say: We already know the lengths that FDR supporters will go to lie for their man. We know no such thing. What I know is that when a dispute is primarily political, partisans on both sides of the fence tend to...er..twist the truth a little. Joan
