I think that it is much more in the interest of Qualcomm to sell the handset division to Nokia than to Samsung.

Obviously so, and it is a must for Nokia if they intend to assure their dominant position in the "handset" market going forward (I love to say that... going forward...like there's an alternative).

To my thinking, it's the obvious choice... it's the only way that both Qualcomm and Nokia can assuure the absolute domination of their respective markets. The alternative of Motorola or Siemens, et al, leaves way too many unknowns for both Q and N.
