Infowave's Form 20-F registration becomes effective

Infowave Wireless Messaging Inc
Wednesday Feb 3 1999

Mr. Todd Carter reports

The company's Form 20-F registration statement has become effective.
Infowave is now a reporting company under the U.S. Securities
Exchange Act of 1934, as amended.

This is an important milestone in the company's efforts to maximize
shareholder value. The majority of the company's customers and
partners are already in the United States and now Infowave is also
accessible to American investors.

Infowave's stock can now be solicited and traded by licenced
broker-dealers in the United States in compliance with Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations.
Certain Infowave securities
were already exempt in some states under the Standard & Poor's
manual exemption for secondary trading. Infowave now has greater
flexibility to carry out investor relations activities in the U.S. in
compliance with applicable state laws. The effective registration
statement also moves Infowave closer to eligibility for listing its stock on
a U.S. stock exchange or market.
