Frank,

Great post. Looks like protocol independent DWDM may be a safe bet for the future. I like Sun's idea about being able to send any protocol (GE, ATM, and FC) out over the longer haul. Do you see the future long haul networks as being protocol independent or do you see a specific IP transport protocol dominating?
