(The following is a reformatted version of a press release issued by CTC Communications.) CTC COMMUNICATIONS ENHANCES MID-ATLANTIC PRESENCE WITH OPENING OF A NEW BRANCH OFFICE IN BLOOMFIELD, N.J.
New Branch Taps Large Market, Completes N. Y. Metro Presence and Opens the New Jersey Marketplace
Waltham, Massachusetts, December 8, 1999 -- CTC Communications (NASDAQ: CPTL), a rapidly expanding provider of state-of-the-art integrated communications solutions for medium-to-larger enterprises in The Northeast U.S. today announced the opening of a strategically placed branch in Bloomfield, N.J. The new location completes CTC's full market presence in the New York City metro area, opens the northern New Jersey market and continues CTC's southerly expansion.
CTC believes that the Bloomfield office will enable the Company to manage existing accounts locally, and Bloomfield's proximity to the busy Port of New York and New Jersey makes it particularly attractive, given the area's booming business sector, with growing retail, distribution and biotech firms. Bloomfield also complements CTC Communication's Metro New York presence, where the Company currently operates two offices in Manhattan, two in Westchester and two on Long Island serving a solid and expanding base of business customers. "As a Company that takes great pride in locating its account executives and customer service representatives directly in the markets we serve, CTC's Bloomfield office will enable us to locally manage the communications needs of our customers in the region," stated Tony Vermette, CTC's Vice President of Sales. "In addition, the New York metro area presents great potential for businesses to tap into our recently deployed Cisco powered, IP-centric IntelliNET, now being introduced in the Mid-Atlantic states."
Heading the Bloomfield office is newly promoted Branch Manager Rob Kilkowski, who brings 20 years of management experience and a wealth of knowledge of the New York and northern New Jersey markets to his new post.
Added CTC's Mr. Vermette, "Rob's expertise with business customers in the fields of transportation, logistics and biotech, coupled with a proven track record of successfully managing major customer accounts, make him an excellent choice to lead the Bloomfield office."
The Bloomfield branch represents the latest in a series of strategic expansion moves by CTC Communications in the most robust telecommunications region in the world -- the Washington D.C. to Boston corridor. On November 15, the Company announced it will open new branch offices in suburban Philadelphia and in Princeton, N.J. CTC also plans additional offices in Pittsburgh, Pa., Washington D.C., Bethesda, Md., and Arlington, Va. within 12 months.
CTC recently distinguished itself through the successful commercial rollout of its Cisco powered Integrated Communications Network (ICN). Called IntelliNET, it is composed initially of 22 Cisco-powered hub locations, providing service in each of the New England States, New York and New Jersey. Representing an investment to date of over $55 million, the network is powered by a suite of Cisco networking products, including IP, frame relay and ATM, thus enabling CTC to deliver converged, value-added, high-speed Internet, data, video and long distance voice services to its growing customer base. The company recently announced that it is on schedule to have 200 business customer locations "live" on the new network by year end, and move to full commercial production in 2000. |
