It was Sting-Ray that suggested the psychology of December could mimic October. . . .everyone waiting for a collapse which never comes. . . which I agree could be a great call.

Frankly, I hope this does not occur, for it would be very bad for the markets. We NEED a correction. . . .it is healthy and helps to establish support levels. . . When you go straight up, there is no support for you should you fall.

Another thing. . .last year, the January effect hit December 7 and 8, then we sold-off on December 10 for the rest of the month. This year, the January effect seemed to be back when I discussed it in late October/early November.

On the other hand, this week we have been seeing tremendous volume into the promising small caps, while the large caps sat there doing nothing. Yesterday, the Nas and Dow were down and the Russell 2000 was up. . . an odd situation. . .

So the trick to the rest of December is most likely in the next few days. . . and I am mostly all small cap at this point. . .but will dump the minute I see evidence of the guests heading for the door and the band playing their final song.
