Concentric Partner and CAM to Offer Unique End-to-End E-Commerce Solution
Aimed at Small Retailers

Affordable Solution Pairs Web Hosting and E-Commerce Technology With Back
Office Retail Software

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Concentric Network Corp.
(Nasdaq: CNCX), a leading provider of e-business solutions for growing
companies, and CAM Data Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CADA) announced today a joint
partnership to deliver the industry's first, most affordable end-to-end
Internet storefront technology and back office retailing software to
small- and medium-sized traditional and Web retailers. The software -- called
i.STAR -- allows a retailer to create a sophisticated Web store that leverages
Retail STAR, CAM Data's back office business system, to create and launch a
Web site without the need for a dedicated Web development team. The i.STAR Web
storefront software and the Retail STAR back office retailing and order
processing software offer a seamless business solution, which resides on a
single database hosted within Concentric's state-of-the-art data center
facility. CAM Data is pairing its retail management software with
ConcentricAIP, an application infrastructure platform that includes server
management hosting and application monitoring, to enable small- and mid-sized
retail companies to extend their business reach and leverage the power of the
Internet.
"i.STAR is the most robust product for the small retailers we've seen,"
said Mark Fisher, senior vice president and general manager of Concentric's
network services division. "With its price point at less than 10% of
comparable solutions, it fills a huge need in the marketplace for the smaller
retailer who is serious about doing business on the Web. We are pleased to be
partnering with CAM Data. Their retail management solutions are powerful, and
more importantly, affordable and simple to use, making it a logical compliment
to Concentric's portfolio of e-business solutions."

Retail Management Solution
This end-to-end solution for small retailers, includes a complete Internet
storefront with seamless links to back office software, inventory management,
purchasing and receiving, customer management, sales order processing,
accounts receivable, UPS shipping and tracking, management reporting and
credit card processing capability. Moreover, i.STAR and Retail STAR use a
secure, encrypted database called SQLBase SafeGarde from Centura Software
(Nasdaq: CNTR) (www.centurasoft.com). SQLbase SafeGarde offers 56-bit and
128-bit encryption capability with no performance degradation, and plays the
key role in keeping the retailers' data secure. Centura also participated in
the development of i.STAR through a development partnership with CAM Data.

In addition to providing a complete retail management solution, CAM Data
and Concentric will begin delivering educational seminars on e-commerce for
small retailers throughout the country. Starting in January, these seminars
are designed to assist retailers in the overall growth of their online
business channel. The seminars will be held in major cities throughout the
U.S., and in conjunction with many of the retail trade shows that CAM Data
participates in beginning in the first quarter.
"The last piece of the puzzle for us in getting ready to deploy i.STAR,
was selecting an application infrastructure provider and business partner for
delivering i.STAR," stated Geoff Knapp, CEO of CAM Data Systems. It is very
important that these sites come up in a reliable fashion and that they are
easy to maintain from a hosting standpoint if we are going to be able to keep
the price low. We feel that Concentric offers our customers the best
combination of Web hosting and managed services, while offering us the best
possible partner for business development and co-marketing support. Simply
put, we believe their business model fits extremely well with ours. We also
believe that Concentric's e-commerce service is a great entry level solution
for our customers who are not yet ready for i.STAR."

Price and Availability
Available in January, this end-to-end solution, including Internet
storefront technology, retail management software, Windows NT, Centura net.db
and SQLBase Safegarde starts at under $20,000 or for $500 per month. The
hosting component, provided by the Concentric, is based on per month usage.
Each i.STAR customer will have their own Web server, hosted by Concentric,
which is capable of storing well in excess of 100,000 items for sale. Beta
sites of i.STAR hosted by Concentric will be available within 30 days. A
sample demonstration of the i.STAR software and concept may be viewed on CAM
Data's Web site at www.camdata.com.
