B: (TDFX) 3dfx Standardizes on StarBase Solution to Manage All Software
Development Efforts

SANTA ANA, Calif., Dec 9, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Leading Interactive Entertainment Hardware Company Implements
Multiple Product Licenses of StarTeam 4.1 Enterprise
for its Expanding Team of Developers

StarBase Corporation (Nasdaq:SBAS), a leading provider of eBusiness
Life Cycle Management Solutions, today announced that 3dfx
Interactive(R) Inc. (Nasdaq:TDFX), a leading developer of high
performance 3D graphics processors, software and related technology,
has purchased and implemented approximately 200 product licenses of the
StarTeam 4.1 Enterprise Suite.

3dfx has deployed StarTeam 4.1 Enterprise to over 200 engineers located
in development centers distributed across the United States and in
Europe.

3dfx chose StarTeam after an intense evaluation process that included
several of the major software configuration management (SCM) vendors.
The decision was based on StarTeam's interoperability, seamless
integration with most development environments, ease-of-use and low
implementation costs. StarTeam will provide a true client server
development solution for the geographically dispersed 3dfx development
team. In addition, StarTeam is deployed across the 3dfx corporate
enterprise to include non-technical users involved in the successful
development of 3D graphics and related technology.

"We needed a high-level solution that would address the requirements of
our ever-expanding development needs," said Richard Cooke, vice
president of software engineering for 3dfx Interactive, Inc. "We
recognized that StarTeam 4.1 was the right choice for 3dfx, based on
flexibility, functionality and the ability to have the system optimized
to our specific needs. We felt StarTeam would provide us with the power
and edge we were looking for in our information system (IS) solution
and that it was the best technology available for us on the market."

"We continue to see more deployment of our StarTeam product across the
enterprise by large corporate development teams," said Tom Brattvet,
vice president of sales at StarBase. "Existing customers and new
customers alike recognize StarTeam as a powerful solution, capable of
addressing their mission-critical applications. The corporate-wide
solution, like the one being utilized by 3dfx, is becoming routine for
StarBase largely due to our management and collaboration solution,
which is scalable and flexible enough to address today's complex
corporate business initiatives."

"Our StarTeam solution is scalable and easy to use, yet rich enough in
functionality to satisfy even the advanced corporate requirements of
3dfx Interactive," said William R. Stow III, chairman and chief
executive officer of StarBase. "3dfx's required support for both
geographically distributed teams and product use customization
represents the future for virtually all major companies. StarTeam is
unsurpassed in its support of these critical business needs."
