ATI graphics power latest Sharp Corporation notebook and desktop PCs

ATI's RAGE(TM) LT PRO and RAGE(TM) Mobility graphics accelerators
ideal for small form factor desktops

TORONTO, Dec. 9 /CNW-PRN/ - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT)
announced today that Sharp Corporation has selected the ATI RAGE(TM)
Mobility-M and RAGE(TM) LT PRO mobile graphics accelerators for a range of new
Sharp consumer and home office notebook and desktop PC systems.
The RAGE Mobility-M provides the graphics for the Sharp Mebius Style
desktop PC and the Sharp FJ notebook. The RAGE LT PRO has been selected for
use with the Sharp DJ desktop and Sharp MJ notebook PCs.
The ATI RAGE Mobility and RAGE LT PRO have become firm favorites of
notebook OEMs since their introduction, and account for the majority of the 3D
and multimedia mobile graphics accelerators market.(x) Their graphics power
and capability, combined with a small footprint, are also making ATI's mobile
products highly popular with the swiftly developing market for compact form
factor desktop PC systems.
''ATI is the worldwide graphics leader because of the combined quality,
speed and performance of its products, and Sharp is very pleased to use ATI
with our desktop and notebook PC systems for the first time,'' said Hiroshi
Mizutani Division General Manager, Personal Computer Division, Sharp
Corporation. ''Sharp looks forward to establishing a close working
relationship with ATI, as we both advance together.''
''The full-size desktop performance of ATI's mobile accelerators is
proven again with Sharp Computer's selection of the RAGE Mobility and RAGE LT
PRO for a new line of small form factor desktop PCs,'' said Vincent Win, vice
president of OEM sales, ATI Technologies Inc. ''And in notebook PCs, ATI's
mobile accelerators deliver truly unsurpassed performance, with the best
graphics and multimedia feature set found on the market.''

The ATI RAGE Mobility: true desktop features and performance in a highly
compact form factor
ATI RAGE Mobility graphics accelerators are designed to deliver
high-performance 3D, 2D and multimedia performance and features, with the
small footprint required for a mobile graphics subsystem. RAGE Mobility
accelerators feature a unique ''single component graphics sub-system
solution'' that replaces the need for over six individual chips to provide
memory and graphics functions. The single sub-system design results in
important motherboard space savings, as well as the cost of the individual
components.

ATI's RAGE LT PRO: an extensive feature set for notebook PCs and
space-saving desktop PCs
The RAGE LT PRO is the ideal multimedia mobile computing and presentation
solution, with a built-in dual display and video feature set, allowing data to
be displayed on two screens for extra large spreadsheets or documents, and
ability to connect to digital video camera, TV or projection device
peripherals.
