Nokia launches mobile handsets with Hindi display

New Delhi, December 9: Finnish mobile phone handset company Nokia has launched a handset in India that has Hindi as an option for display. The company got the Home Minister, L K Advani to release the set, Nokia 3210.

Advani lauded the company for bringing in the phones in the national language and hoped that the company would bring out phones in other regional languages.

The Hindi user interface was developed by a team of personnel from india and Finland and the characters were designed to provide best possible clarity, legibility and calligraphic shape, Parikshit Bhasin, managing director of Nokia India said.

Bhasin said the company was looking at the option of making handsets available in other languages too, but it would entirely depend on viability.
