True Microsoft could react rapidly with all the money they have. However, don't forget that their bread and butter (a gift from IBM) is their operating system which predominates Intel PCs. With Java, the NC computer will not, and I strongly hope so, be dominated by any O/S from Microsoft. Anyone's anything that runs Java will work for NCs. That is exactly their (MS) biggest worry. They will lose control. Sure they may sell some server O/S but most of the money spent by large companies is for the large number of desktops. No more inside advantage (in development and sales) like they have currently with their office products on their own O/S. While Corel has still many issues to address, many other companies are also following a similar road to Java land and not ActiveX which Microsoft is flaunting to maintain O/S control for the NCs or any follow up technology. Don't ever think that you have a fair game when Microsoft controls the O/S.
