Jim, you may not want to hear this but bear in mind that most brokerages don't give IPOs to the little guys....and part of that is because there are federal guidelines on the appropriateness of investing in IPOs....I'm not insinuating anything, but if you can barely afford a $5K brokerage account, in reality you may not qualify for IPO investing. I'm not saying the rich don't get richer, but you have to deal with it.

I'm sure a lot of people are not being truthful in filling out their customer profile, and there is little Etrade can or will do about this unless prodded by the government.

And I do think Etrade should reward their better customers (i.e., those with higher trading activity and balances).
