Cost of a phone call within the USA footprint to anywhere in the world will run $1.39 to $1.69 depending on your service plan. When does service start? Commercial service is now available. During "soft launch," which is expected to run until February 2000, customers will receive a 50% discount on satellite air time. During the soft launch period there is a possibilty that there will be periods of service interruption while the Globalstar satellite constellation and hub stations are fine tuned.
