Interesting post from Financialville...

EGRP vs. AMTD-

Looking at the year ended 9/30/99, AMTD showed impressive account growth of 85% from the
old # of 306k to the new number of 560K. Not bad, however EGRP in the same period saw
account growth of 185% from 544K to 1.55M. Double the growth from double the base. In the
most recent Q, EGRP signed 310K accounts, basically a 25% increase in their total, while AMTD
signed on 62K new accounts, less than a 12% increase in their total so it looks like EGRP is
continuing to sign on new customers at twice the rate of AMTD.

I am thinking of diversifying into some AMTD but with these kinds of numbers I can't justify it.
Perhaps the market will be nicer to AMTD cause they are showing a profit - but it seems quite
clear to me that EGRP investing in its business is paying off with major growth.

Looking at AMTD Jan $30s at under $2 for a double on a $10 run, and also NITE Jan $50s
around $4 for a double on a $10 run.
