Weblet, another cute little Java applet, is revealing what is happening on the browser side of the Internet. New plug-ins and plug-in updates are arriving almost everyday. It makes me wonder if an embedded platform will ever be able to keep up with a PC. Probably not. This is making the embedded world craving for a standard platform. With the ISI acquisition, WRS is clearly the preferred platform for many application developers. Application support is what will get us ahead of the competition, not our performance nor code size.
