DDI,IDO CdmaOne Cellphone Service Down
In Parts Of Tokyo

TOKYO -- Equipment failure has cut off users of Ido Corp.'s "CdmaOne"
mobile phone service in some parts of Tokyo, Nikkei news reported Friday,
quoting the company.

The failure of exchange equipment in an adjacent prefecture north of Tokyo
has affected services in western Tokyo and parts of Kanagawa prefecture
(southwest of Tokyo), Nikkei reported.

Ido officials were unavailable for comment. Ido and DDI Corp. (J.DDD or
9433) launched Code Division Multiple Access Services in April.

Ido, which is not listed, provides CdmaOne to about 727,400 subscribers in
the Kanto area around Tokyo and in the Tohoku region of northern Japan.
DDI group companies cover other regions of Japan.

At the midday break Friday on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, DDI shares are
up Y40,000, or 2.8%, at Y1.46 million.
