A good company to keep in mind is Sybase (SYBS), whose products can run on LINUX, a fact they have not publicized since the recent linux stock craze. See for example, an August press release, from which the first paragraph is quoted below. Sybase is a great company with outstanding turnaround performance this last several quarters (yes, I'm long).

San Jose, CA , August 09, 1999 -- In addressing the needs of the growing Linux community, Sybase, Inc. (Nasdaq: SYBS) today announced that it is
extending its support for the Linux platform. By expanding its offerings, Sybase delivers a highly available and scalable enterprise platform on Linux.
Sybase's Linux support ranges from the back end database to a strong Web architecture, needed to run reliable E-business, customer self-service and
online trading applications.
