I agree, it's hard to chase IPO's on the first day, but sympathy plays (such as the one you mentioned with QuePasa.com) are often easier to pull off.

If El Sitio receives a large market cap today as a result of the the "LCTO" IPO, people will be looking at other Hispanic portal plays. QuePasa.com may also have fireworks associated with El Sitio, but moreover, it is very likely to be bought out for its low market cap ($140 million) as a strategic Hispanic internet property.

Who will buy out PASA? AOL has been mentioned, but here's a more likely scenario:

1. Terra Networks (TRRA) has said they'll buy a Hispanic Portal addressing the lucrative Hispanic U.S. market.

cbs.marketwatch.com

2. IDT Corporation (IDTC) and TRRA have announced they will jointly launch a Hispanic web venture in the U.S.

3. IDT Corporation OWNS the Internet Domain Name: NuestraVoz.com (translated: "our voice").

4. NOW... Try typing:

nuestravoz.com

into your browser's address field and hitting the ENTER key. It redirects you to:

nuestravoz.quepasa.com

5. Why would IDTC OWN the nuestravoz.com domain name, but then redirect it to quepasa.com??? There's only one answer: they're working together.

6. We could use associative logic to deduce that TRRA is ALSO working with IDTC and PASA because IDTC and TRRA are working together on "a Hispanic portal", but after ITDC's earnings conference call yesterday, the relationship between IDTC & TRRA & PASA was all but confirmed:

Conf Call replay:

vcall.com

In the Q&A session when someone asked about the status of IDTC's "NuestraVoz.com", IDTC's management said something to the effect of:

"We folded the early part of NuestraVoz.com into a joint venture [which they say will be announced] with Terra Networks & Telefonica [Terra's parent]."

TRRA's IPO quiet period expires on Monday December 13th:

ipo.com

Hmmmmm....

ARE YOU READY FOR THE ANSWER: Terra Networks (TRRA) & IDT Corporation (IDTC) will probably both buy PASA.
