You are probably right. I was looking at the headline statements, and also looking for specific recommendations based
on Itanium. I now understand that if the significance of the product is well over a year away, the press and the analysts
wouldn't be starting the hype at this point.

So, I guess it's a one-way street. Remember last year when Intel stock tanked briefly because of their announced six month delay in the Merced schedule? There was significant discussion here about it, and John Hull came in and said something like the overwhelming complexity of the project plan had caused project managers to not see some critical paths. That's why I hope that plan is being lived with daily by some of Intel's best.
