Some people have really taken the 'Greed is good' speech in the movie 'Wall Street' to heart.

If you want more shares why don't you start your _own_ company. Or buy 'em on the market like a man with the rest of us!

If I were one of the founders of FMKT, I'd be wondering why my underwriters hadn't raised the IPO price to $100. Why shouldn't they raise the price to reflect the demand? It's not what something is worth, it's what the market will bear.

Ironically, the fact that some people can buy this stock in the 40s and everyone else who is interested in investing has to pay god-knows-what does _not_ reflect a free market. This sort of inbalance in supply and demand backed up by cosy relationships between institutions is _precisely_ what FMKT (the company) is all about shaking up...
