CrossKeys Resolve Adds Support for Cisco Management System to Multi-Vendor Portfolio
Friday December 10, 8:43 am Eastern Time
Company Press Release
CrossKeys enhances ability to draw from leading network management systems, demonstrating its leadership in multi-vendor management
KANATA, ONTARIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 1999-- CrossKeys Systems Corporation (NASDAQ:CKEY - news; TSE:CKY. - news) today announced it has expanded its multi-vendor capabilities by adding support for the Cisco WAN Manager to CrossKeys Resolve(r) portfolio. With this addition, CrossKeys Resolve software can manage the performance of networks with the Cisco network management system (NMS).

Service providers with Cisco networks can now deploy CrossKeys Resolve software for its incisive view of telecom network traffic and understanding of how that traffic affects customer-perceived service. In this way, CrossKeys software goes far beyond simply monitoring network faults or outages. CrossKeys Resolve software delivers performance management intelligence for multiple technologies, multiple vendors and across the various network layers -- from fibre or high-speed copper in the ground, to applications such as eCommerce and virtual private networks (VPNs).

Service providers use CrossKeys Resolve software to guarantee customer services, ensure customer satisfaction and proactively plan the future of their network infrastructure. This means less customer churn, more revenue from satisfied customers and better network expenditure decisions using fact-based projections.

``We have built our software from the ground up with the ability to integrate multiple vendors. That is what the market demands,' says Ian McLaren, President and CEO, CrossKeys. ``Our customers have asked us to support their Cisco-powered networks and we have delivered. This supports our multi-vendor direction and underlines our approach to performance management -- drawing data from the richest source, the NMS. By having the richest data sources, we provide the best intelligence for service providers, guaranteeing customer quality of service and network operations at peak efficiency.'

The Multi-vendor Framework, an existing tool set in CrossKeys Resolve software, jump-started the integration of Cisco WAN Manager into CrossKeys product. CrossKeys Resolve portfolio now directly supports Cisco Systems, Lucent Technologies, Newbridge Networks, and Nortel Networks. The Multi-vendor Framework, like the recently announced OSS Toolkit, demonstrates CrossKeys leadership in open architecture and its commitment to multi-vendor systems. CrossKeys multi-vendor initiatives save service providers money and allow them to select best-of-breed applications without concern for vendor conflict.

Cisco WAN Manager, formerly known as StrataView Plus, from Cisco Systems is a network and element management system that enables operations, maintenance and management of wide area network (WAN) multi-service networks. It is part of the Cisco Service Management System.

The Cisco WAN Manager functionality is available now as part of the CrossKeys Resolve portfolio, and will receive further enhancements in the upcoming release of CrossKeys Resolve 3.1, slated for February. About CrossKeys
