David, you know MediaComposer well. However, I run a 9500 Apple with Targa1000, Ultra Barracuda and Ultra Atto SC card. Question: Does the new AvidExpress software display similiar desktop tools (commands, etc.) as NewsCutter 3.8? I realize Newscutter 3.8 has higher resolution than the Targa1000 but which AVID software could I run on my 9500 PCI which would mimic NewsCutter? Regarding AVID as an investment. Last year I sold naked June15 puts $4 and will of course buy 'em back before next earnings release. However, long-term AVID could still be king of the hill in newsrooms as they are developing technology above and beyond editing. Years from now AVID will not only edit news material. It could perhaps play it back from one main server. That server could be networked to reporter desks (not editor bays). Producers, sitting in control rooms, could perhaps move around edited pkgs at ease. AVID represents a much bigger TV newroom revolution than just non-linear editing as we now know it. So the current value of AVID's stock is a reflection of what the future could bring, rather than any 6month to year earnings.
