C'mon, Daniel, you know better than that. Trying to pinpoint the weak spot of any complex, n-tier application without knowledge of the application and database design is ludicrous.

The fact is that SQL Server has been proven to work fine with heavy, sustained loads. What's the problem in SI's case? Neither of us has enough information to answer that question.
