Philips to supply set-top boxes, further technology for DigiTurk venture 12/09/1999 AFX News (c) 1999 by AFP-Extel News Ltd AMSTERDAM (AFX) - Royal Philips Electronics NV said it won two contracts to supply set-top boxes and digital compression and encoder technology for the DigiTurk satellite venture launched today. The satellite venture will offer digital television and radio services. The service will start in March in Turkey and is expected to quickly expand to other Turkish-speaking countries such as Azerbaijan and the Central Asian Republics, Philips said.
