Markie-
1) Looks like so far this year the performance between VISX and VLNC have essentially been the same thing (although as I write this, VISX at noon, VISX is down 3 1/4, so that will change the comparison). 2) I don't claim to know the number of procedures that have been performed by VISX relative to its competitors, but to me the important thing, given the ruling that patents were not infringed, is that over time competition will severely erode if not completely eliminate the $250/procedure revenue stream that VISX has received in the past, thus reducing (I suspect severely) the future revenue stream to VISX. 3) I've never denied for a minute that, up until recently, VLNC has been dead money. Right now, however, that is utterly irrelevant. What is important is the potential of the two companies. Right now, I'm a whole lot more impressed with the prospects for VLNC than I would be about VISX.
