When Vice Presidents bail the writing is on the wall;
BOCA RATON, Fla., Dec 10, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Qtera Corporation, a leading developer of photonic networking solutions for the backbone of the Optical Internet, today announced the newest additions to its management team. Richard Mebane has come aboard as the Vice President of Customer Care and James Vandevere has been promoted to Vice President of Manufacturing. Mebane will lead Qtera's aggressive program to establish the resources, infrastructure, and processes for an industry-leading service and support organization. Vandevere, formerly Qtera's director of manufacturing, will be responsible for all manufacturing and production activities. "Both Customer Care and Manufacturing are crucial to our continued success as Qtera gains more and more momentum," stated Fahri Diner, Qtera's President and CEO. Prior to joining Qtera, Mebane was vice president of global services for Newbridge Networks Corporation, a multi-billion dollar company that designs, manufactures, markets and services a comprehensive family of networking products and systems. In that position, he led support services to customers in over 90 countries. Mebane has also managed and directed service organizations for Avant! Communications Corporation and Codex Corporation, a subsidiary of Motorola. Some specific responsibilities he will have in his role include managing field operations, field logistics, technical support, customer service, and technical documentation and training for Qtera. He received his Electrical Engineering degree from Cornell University and a Business Management Degree from Rutgers University/University of Rhode Island.
