Let's "play name that firm". Here's the clue:

Joe Logan used to brag about his close relationship with Chalem. He would provide anecdotes relating how powerful Chalem was. In one of his monologues, Logan stated that "Al used to work at the World Trade Center and controlled a whole floor that was an investment banking firm. He controlled over 200 brokers". He said this around the summer of '98. Name that firm!

Note: Although I am presenting the question in a slightly less that serious way, it's still a serious request and I seriously don't know who the firm was or whether Logan's claim is true.
