Again, there are all sorts of mincemeats that can do into a pie. I have had some that I loathed. I have eaten--and made--a few that were delightful.

One of the sad things about the homogenization of America--despite all of the plusses of spreading information and culture--is that variety can be lost. (Are you listening, Neocon?) It is like the situation with heirloom varieties of vegetables: The persistent survivors are still with us, and for some very sound reasons; yet we lose some precious variety if we are not careful.
