FMR take stakes in several companies

WASHINGTON, Dec 10 (Reuters) - FMR Corp., the parent of mutual fund firm Fidelity Management & Research Co., revealed on Friday for the first time that it holds more than five percent of stock in a wide range of companies.

Boston-based FMR said it holds 20,178,916 shares, or 10.13 percent of Sprint Corp.'s PCS Group PCS common stock, a company that MCI WorldCom Inc. WCOM has proposed acquiring for more than $110 billion, according to a passive filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

FMR said in a separate filing that it holds 2,303,550 shares, or 12.36 percent, of F5 Networks Inc. FFIV , a maker of Internet traffic management systems, according to another filing.

Plus, FMR said it now holds 3,430,340 shares, or 12.4 percent, of the wireless telecommunications equipment supplier Allen Telecom Inc.ALN .

FMR said it holds 10.9 percent, or 17,828,170 shares, of Immunex Corp. IMNX , a biopharmaceutical company.

FMR said it also now holds 15,899,523 shares, or 10 percent, of Praxair Inc. PX , an industrial gases supplier.
