In don't care how flexible you are. re is not a word, it is an abbreviation. If you accept re, you have to accept th (as in 10th). I wouldn't accept either. And if you're going to be flexible, how about er, which is both an interjection and the chemical symbol for erbium. I'm going to wait until I get home and consult the OED before I will accept ere as a word rather than also a contraction. And I don't think it's fair to say that therein is IN therein.
