Thanks for the info on the Phillips DVD recorder. I am not surprised at the $2000 price tag except that it is less than I thought it would be. The first CD recorder that came out was $4000, but in a relatively short period they came down toe the $500 range. I expect that we will see a similar event with DVD recorders.

I wonder how this will affect video as well as DVD sales down the road? Someone could make perfect copies of their favorite movies for all of their friends especially with HDTV finally rolling out.

Just some food for thought.
