Hi bid parents! Im looking for an alternative to Webroker but have had no time to switch. Some seem really happy with Schwab, I think I will check them out at the Investment show in Toronto in January. They usually offer some incentives to switch over.Anyway a few things I have noticed when using Webroken. They are harsh processing an order sometimes. If you go to List orders. An outstanding order listed as a "w" is an order waiting to get posted by the computer( I think). If I am chasing a stock, which I did with a little too frequently this week, I don't change the order I keep the realtime quotes window open in the order form and enter a new order if I want to change it. Then I cancel the other order(ASAP!!)by going to the list orders and cancelling. I'm sure others on the thread will think I am nuts for doing it this way, but the little bit I lose up or down seems to be less than the amount I lose waiting for them to "Change an order". It can also be a great adrenaline rush. Apparently an order change has to be entered manually and this takes more time than a normal order. I also noticed your comment about timing out. I reduce the window and periodically go back and refresh a real time quote.Any refresh seems to restart the timer and I have managed to stay logged in for hours. Sorry I don't know th exact length of time, probably shorter than the lenght of time it took you to read this long winded note.
Anyway I hope this novice to novice letter helps.
