SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec 10, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Kanakaris
Communications, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: KKRS, KKRSE), today launches
45 movie titles at 100bps and 300bps Broadband on its Web site
www.KKRS.net, as part of its participation in the Microsoft Broadband
Jumpstart Initiative. These full-screen, full-motion, TV-quality
pictures join over 220 films which are accessible to all Internet users
at a variety of access speeds on the Kanakaris entertainment web sites.

In November, Web traffic to KKRS.net grew by 50% over the previous
month, resulting in 1,384,000 page views, nearly 257,000 sessions
served, and over 16 million hits from six continents.

"We're thrilled to see the success Kanakaris Communications, Inc., has
had with Windows Media," said David Fester, director of Marketing, for
Microsoft's Streaming Media Division at Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT).
"With more than 220 movies available on demand at their web site,
www.KKRS.Net, they are providing a great Internet viewing experience at
their virtual theater."

"Kanakaris utilizes Microsoft Windows Media Technology as a superior
solution to Internet broadcast delivery, thanks to the scalable video,
high fidelity audio and online transaction capabilities this technology
makes possible. With the large audience growth experienced since
introducing Microsoft Windows Media Technology, Kanakaris intends to
offer free movies supported by advertising, $4.95 per month
subscriptions offering unlimited 24/7 access to a larger number of
films, and individual pay-per-view access to special films and Web
events with Broadband delivery. Our Web partner program will allow
other Web sites to participate in the subscription and pay-per-view
revenue," stated Alex Kanakaris, CEO, Kanakaris Communications, Inc.

Kanakaris has been an innovative leader in the introduction of motion
pictures to the Internet. In December 1995, the company offered the
first full-length movie with no download time. Currently, Kanakaris
offers over 220 films in genres including family, horror, sci-fi,
comedy and action. CEO Alex Kanakaris discusses the evolution of the
Internet in his satirical and anecdotal book "Sings of Intelligent Life
on the Internet" (www.NetBooks.com, Dace Publishing 888-840-DACE,
$7.95, 244 pages, ISBN 0-932045-42-1, Ingram Distribution).

Kanakaris chose Windows Media Technology for the www.NetMovieMania.com
portion of the KKRS.net web site over several alternative technologies.
An independent study by PC Data recently found Windows Media Player is
the fastest growing media player in the market, growing 34% over the
past three months. Six out of 10 media players, according to the study,
are now using Windows Media Player.
