my source is the on-line charting service (very detailed) for dorsey-wright. i also receive their daily market comment and monday's report (april 21) has a section on the bio-tech sector showing signs of a bottom. lots of historical precedent listed in the report. although the sector is bear-confirmed dw suggests putting together a list of candidates to buy when the sector reverses up. the rel. strength buy occured a few days ago. you are correct, it does signal a long-term buy. however, my experience with dw sector work is very good as long as you as you use it on an intermediate-term basis. the bottom could still take more time. the current reading is 22%---it bottomed in april andjune of 1994 at 20%. 1987 and 1990 took it to 10%. in 92 when the bio-tech sector was killed, it hit 12%. so you can draw your own conclusions.
