David: Thanks, MCXpress will 'see' the Targa1000 but does MCXpress' tools and commands appear similar to the user as NewsCutter 3.8 ? If need be I'll get the Targa2000. I'm really interested in using Newscutter on a regular basis but can't afford the system cost. On the other hand, I can afford to piece together an "avid' : 9500 PCI Apple, Ultra ATTO and Seagate Ultra etc. I use Premiere now but prefer Newscutter.

I wouldn't expect AVID to hit 40s again. But I did think 9$ was too cheap given the millions they can make. If they could just control costs they might turn some nice qtrs into a nice stock price. But yes, $40 stock price appears to be history.
