HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 5, 1999--
AMERICAN TECHNICAL CERAMICS CORP. (AMEX: AMK), announced today that
it has received an order, in the amount of approximately $5.5 million
from a major telecommunications OEM for custom-manufactured Thin Film
circuits.

This order, the largest to date for ATC's Thin Film product
operation, is part of an anticipated multi-year production program
and follows several years of progressively larger projects for this
customer. Deliveries are scheduled for calendar year 2000.

Victor Insetta, ATC's Chairman and CEO said: "We believe that the
magnitude of this order warrants disclosure. We are very pleased by
the confidence in our Thin Film operation that we believe this order
represents. It validates our belief that Thin Film will be an
important part of our future. We recently completed a three-fold
expansion of this operation, and we are now planning the next phase,
the construction of a dedicated facility at our Jacksonville
location."

AMERICAN TECHNICAL CERAMICS CORP. designs, develops,
manufactures, and markets RF/Microwave/Millimeter,Wave ceramic and
porcelain capacitors and Thin Film Products. The Company's products
are focused primarily in the high reliability market for UHF and
microwave applications.
