Pam (my wife and the bigger MAPS fan) and I were talking yesterday on the way home from work about MAPS. We were talking about selling some. Her IRA is now about 34% MAPS (and 25% CAMD). I was talking about balancing things out, dropping them down to about 17% each and adding two more stocks with the then 34% available in cash.

Then we started talking about what's going on with MAPS.

I told her that one of the big focus areas of future tech is Wireless. Not just cell phones, but wireless internet, etc. The one issue critical to going wireless is placing towers.

Pam, a MapBasic programmer writing a nice application for an HMO in the early 90's, suddenly got the realization that MAPS is selling to the companies trying to determine locations for towers.

"Wow! You're not selling any of my shares!" was all she said.

Bottom line, we're letting both ride in her IRA for now.

Happily Long MAPS (and CAMD),
Duke
