taxman: Alas it is official the NY Times has discovered the sides are miles apart. The remedies proposed in this article are pretty ridiculous as the suspicion of hidden API's will always remain and there will always be charges that MSFT is somehow making secret pacts with certain boxmakers. Such speculation by the US version of Pravda is not surprising but the thought that any capitalist could countenance such solutions is a little scary. We are talking of a "monopoly" that was born of consumer choice not government concession. As far as barriers to entry what about the great Linux scare and the ORCL thin client scenario or the AOL rules the net and the net is the real O/S? Can't have it both ways. JFD
