Small firms swept up in Linux craze archives.theglobeandmail.com Hummingbird Communications Ltd., one of Canada's largest software makers, gained $6 or 14.3 per cent to close at $48, a new high.Fred Sorkin, the company's chief executive officer, said yesterday Hummingbird will announce next week that its long-awaited enterprise information portal (EIP) will be compatible with Linux when it becomes available next month. I didn't realize they were going to release the Linux product next month. I must say that you couldn't ask for better timing then this. Now the question is how high will Hum go before we see a pull back. Mike
