I was slapped in the face with a ping-pong paddle by my mother and beaten frequently with a belt by my father.

My mother was a big fan of the ping-pong paddle. When I did something she disapproved of when I was around 10 or 11, she would call me into the kitchen to get a swat.

One day I made the mistake of telling her it didn't hurt.

I can only remember one paddling by my mother which I never forgot. 20 swats on the bare ass. Nor have I ever forgotten why I got it. My grandfather was visiting, and he suggested my mother make the punishment memorable.
