I posted some of the PRI stuff initially in the Tylan thread as the discussion somehow drifted towards automation. I saw the Berger posts and they motivated me to do some research into Tylan's competition. As I posted at the time, I only found one public company in more or less the same business as Tylan. (That company, Unit Instruments or UNII, did not seem to be doing badly, really) The rest are private or Japanese not traded in the US.

The most amazing thing about the Tylan after-earnings collapse was that Mr. Ferran had stated the very same warning a few weeks before in the H&Q conference, and Tylan also talked about slowdown in their 1995 annual report. In spite of this, the mention of a possible business slowdown in the earnings report was suddenly treated as this big piece of news.

In any case, patience is crucial here.
