Price target=$175-$200
ISLD deal is huge & just too strong, and will just keep forging ahead. What you are seeing is consolidation, here in mid 130's . Shorting tactics are plausible under normal circumstances on a run like this, but you shorts don't just get it yet. If anyone wants to short this some more, go ahead. You'll be standing in front of a very fast moving freight train, after tomorrow and tues at the latest...watch & cover. There are too many willing investors , that are willing to hold ISLD for that inevitable continued run, and buy more if it dips, now.
Support now looks to be in mid 130's, now, and don't think any predictions of a 20pt drop, is much more than ----->extreme wishful thinking. But one can dream, LOL!...take a few pts and cover, if you are short, as new coverage starting and upgrades seems a given, then a new run-up to start to $175! Something is brewing....they have something in the works. And SandPiper merger going thru in a matter of weeks, what and incredible bargin for ISLD and perfect marriage of companies.... And CNBC loves it , much to AKAM's dismay.
ISLD Deal has so many lasting consequences, that the gap may never fill. Networking and Telecommunications are going to get only hotter, and The deal gives Digital Island the largest network by far, as measured by the number of servers. These servers can be deployed in a matter of a few days to 90 days.
Combine Inktomi's suite of network products and Sun's servers and Digital Island becomes a powerful player delivering content at TV-like speed. Content delivery providers enable content companies to speed up the time it takes to download or view Web pages, critical in a world of rich media.
As for comparison, Akamai , considered the dominant and first-mover in this emerging business, at least in terms of market valuation, has network server deployments in the order of 1,500. Additionally, Digital Island's servers will contain multiple processors, making them more powerful than a single-processor server. (yet it's unclear whether Akamai has single processors or multiple processors on its servers.) But ISLD will be the larger , now easily.
INKT is has split on 12/30, and just remember , that any good news for INKT, Sandpiper, SUNW, AKAM....is good news for ISLD!.... & something is brewing, for Tues. Will be watching for any indication of price moves, as prelude to release of good news from Tuesday's meeting...
Remember, The partnership forged here , is the largest effort to date to install powerful telecommunications carrier grade computers to connect businesses to the existing high-speed telecommunications network, yet known to date!!!!!!!... & the deployment of those servers can be done rather quickly, taking as little as 1 1/2 months, total.
Once deployed will offer faster services & give companies a competitive advantage and facilitate the use of multimedia ''streaming'' video and audio, and super fast downloads with SRI's patented technology, by 1/2!
....And remember the Streaming Media Conference West was just last week in San Jose, with Sandpiper making two announcements of alliances so far, from that. You have got to just watch and learn , from now on.
And I emphasize Streaming, for even with the current Billion dollar estimates , given out by analysts right now, you won't even have time to "blink" , as you see Corporation's insatiable desire for e-commerce and taking stake in the Internet world , is beginning to rage.
Like GM going online with CMRC, and Ford with Oracle...think about that the next time you are sitting at your desk and watch your own choppy connection "choke". And there is not one CEO, of many major corps out there ,that is not thinking of how to get online in the next year. watch and learn...
... very nice to have all the shorts aboard this one. |
