I don't know what caused those problems at Columbine but my theory is that it is the anger and animosity that has pervaded our society since the bigoted religious groups got a voice for their hate philosophies. I can't prove it, any more than you can prove your theory - but thats what I think. I think the same thing that propels all these school shootings propelled the boys that murdered Matthew Sheppard. There is just more hate in the world than there used to be. Since I went to a boarding school for a while, I know a lot of adults who at one point were "latchkey kids" (that would be the term had it existed at the time) and they are all just fine, well adjusted etc. When I hear people like you issue these proclamations I think you are serving some sort of insecurity inside yourself - what, I don't know.
